Watch the cam, then check the tide
A beach cam shows you what the surf and the crowd look like right now. It will not tell you what the beach looks like in three hours — and on the Outer Banks that is usually the question that actually matters, whether you are timing a surf session, a fishing trip, or a drive out to Carova.
Use the two together. Pull up the tide chart for where you are headed, then check the cam right before you leave.
